Pros: The tokinese soup
Cons: The cuts on the roof of my mouth from the imperial rolls

In for supper on a surprisingly busy Wednesday night. Upon our instructions, my party sat ourselves in the primo seats in the house...the ones by the window! There's nothing like vietnemese food and watching who ever sits outside Doc Dylans and Joe Mocha do whatever it is they do!

I ordered the combo A with an extra imperial roll. Those imperial rolls rule my taste buds with flavour. They were extremely hot...must've been fresh from the fryer. Unfortunately for my liking they were a little hard on the roof of my mouth. The combo A comes with tokinese soup(if you don't order anything else, order this) a chicken and beef skewer, a salad(?), an imperial roll(mentioned above) and white rice. Everything was very delicious but the service took a while. The waitress said that she wasn't yet used to the speed at which people eat in the fall compared to summer. In the summer, people eat more leisurely than in autumn. A meal for two costs about 40 bucks. It's a nice casual place to go and the best time to go is after 8pm cuz apparently it's not that busy then. Live long and eat well! MFC

Pros: Great food and great value
Cons: The service need to be improved, start by serving everyone at the same time.

Vien Dong is a Vietnamese and Thai restaurant located on Main Street. Walking past on the street you might over look entering this place for some fantastic food.

I visited Vien Dong one Friday for lunch with some colleagues. We showed up around 11:45 and there were very few people present. I found this surprising because I had heard good things about this place. By about 12:30 every table was full and people where turning and leaving because they did not want to wait. Even with every table full the noise level was surprisingly soft.

The decor is typical of most oriental restaurants. There is light oriental music playing in the background. The restaurant is small having room for I would say about 60 people.

On this day I ordered from the Noon Express menu. I had combination B: Imperial roll, chicken skewer, beef & veggies, salad, and rice. All for only 8.95. Though the waitress was quick to greet and seat us, and take out orders the food was not so quick to come from the kitchen. Oddly, our food did not come out all together either. In our group of 5, 1 person was served after about 12 minutes, the next after about 13. Then 2 more got served after about 15 minutes and 2 minutes later the last person was served. After we where finished our meals we were quickly given our checks so that we could be on our way and more customers could be seated. Other than the wait times the service was pleasant and adequate.

The food it self was delicious. I enjoyed everything on my plate. It was flavorful but not over spiced. The chicken was marinated through, the beef and veggies were great. For 8.95 they also gave generous portions. It was a filling lunch that was well worth the price.
