Pros: The fish was fantastic!!
Cons: No cons for this place.

After trying Deluxe I felt that it was only appropriate to try Skipper Jacks fish and chips. Now, with a name like Skipper Jack's how cold you go wrong ordering the fish'n chips... well let me tell you.... YOU CAN'T

Skipper Jack's comes across as a diner/fast food joint all in one. The seating area is dominated by booths and the food is actually brought over to our table after you place it at the counter.

As per the standard in Moncton their 3 piece fish and chips was around the $9 mark. We placed our order and 4-5 minutes later we had our food server piping hot. The waitress realized we were a bit shy on fries so she returned with more later when they were ready.

I started with the fries. They did not have much taste but heck, I load'em up ketchup anyways. On the plus side the fries were very hot and crisp. Bottom line, they where fantastic. With that out of the way I tore into the fish. The smell and the look told me it was haddock. When I took the first bite it was confirmed. The haddock was moist and tender. Lightly coated in a tender crisp golden brown batter. Not too thick but just right. To date this is the best fish and chips I have had in Moncton. If you like Deluxe you will love Skipper Jacks.

Its a clean and cozy little restaurant with some of the best fish in town, you can't go wrong.

I give the Skip two thumbs up and a perfect 5/5.

Pros: Very Clean and comfortable atmosphere
Cons: At the time I was there .seem to be no supervisor on duty..just young staff with lack of experience

Sorry but was my first and last trip I will visit Skipper Jacks's in Moncton...Always wanted to try it but just never did so this past weekend I decided to stop.....it is very clean the service was fine....there was 2 of us and we order the combo plate that was on for a reasonable price..(seafood)......with no word of lie when the plates came on mine were 4 clams......2 shrimp...and plenty of fries........on the other place he did have a few more clams....and 3 scallops and lots of fries. He wanted to say something to them and it would not of been pretty as there were others in the room......I didnt want to cause a scene......we never went in there thinking we would get a plate full of seafood....but we certainly didnt think we would get what we did get........or the LACK OF IT.... So for our opinion on Skipper Jacks nice place.....but we will be driving by again and now knowing it is not the place to eat if u work hard for your money as we all do....ours will stay in our pockets..........and it wasnt about the cost of the plates cause that part was very reasonable.......IT WAS ALL ABOUT THE LACK OF FOOD ON OUR PLATES..

Pros: the food was really great
Cons: it was a little too busy, so we had to wait

I decided to try this place after a freind suggested it, and let me tell you this....i am definetely going back, i had the Shipa hoy platter wich is basically the seafood platter, i had the scallops & shrimps grilled, 1 pc of battered fish, which was cooked to perfection and the clams tasted really fresh, like the ones you would find in areas like capele or shediac, for $16.50...this was a really great value for the $$$, i was surprised that they also served beer on tap, now i don't know what this other review from ivinggirl is talking about, maybe she was there on an off day or something...but i will definetely be going back to this place, unless i want to save about 50 cents like the above reviewer, then i might lower my expectations This is a must try place
