Pros: Family dining at a reasonable price conveniently located in this small community
Cons: Oddly the overly bright sign outside the restaurant was distracting...

7:00pm Thursday October 8th my husband and I were debating the dining options in our small town (Aldergrove, BC). Slim pickings unless McDonalds, DQ, A&W, Wendys or Quizno's is what you are after - we were not. We were looking for something just shy of fine dining - more like quiet family dining. In Aldergrove there are not a lot of choices that are NOT fast food. I have previously tried to convince my husband to go to Boston Pizza but he's always been reluctant. I think the 'trendy-ness' did not appeal to him. He finally caved after I mentioned the 10 meals for $10 - always in for a deal my husband! We arrived at the recently renovated BP and found it to be fairly busy but we did not have to wait to be seated. There was one larger party seated nearby, several couples and families. The noise level was very acceptable. I realize noise level doesn't usually play a part in a restaurant review but we have often found that it is quite an important factor in our comfort level. The waitress was very friendly - but not overly solicitous. We ordered the calamari as a starter, Mama Meatsa, a Caesar salad and a French Onion Soup. The food came as quickly as one would want on an evening out, the starter was first - I know this might seem obvious but you'd be surprised how often we have experienced the starter arriving at the same time as the entrées or even with them! The entrées themselves were delivered as the last bites of the starter were polished off and they were hot, fresh and delicious! My husband asked me yesterday, when I told him I had been too busy to prepare dinner, if I couldn't just pick up a couple of entrées from Boston Pizza! Yes - he is now a bona fide convert and we have a great place to go for a nice evening out!

Pros: It's a toss-up to decide what was better the service or the food.... jury is still out...
Cons: The worst thing is that it's in Greenwood and not in Aldergrove! 500km is just too far to go!!!

Our two families meet in the middle - Rock Creek - more specifically Kettle River RV Park. We are from Aldergrove and they are transplants from Aldergrove to Medicine Hat. Annually we get together for two weeks in the sun to over-indulge and enjoy each others company. This year we decided to take a break from all the cooking and look for a restaurant. We just lucked into the Pacific Grill. We actually went for ice cream next door with our 7 children the day before and found out about the Pacific Grill from the nice gentleman there. When we came back the following evening we had not made any reservations and found that the restaurant was full to brimming. They accommodated us by retrieving another table and chairs from the back terrace. We ended up trying several entrées that we shared between the four of us and found everything to be so very delicious that we ordered a couple of meals to go for the next day! The service was warm and inviting and the food was so very good that we just wish there was a Pacific Grill in Aldergrove or Medicine Hat. I don't know where these people came from but some town lost a great Chef!
