Pros: food quality and freshness, choice of spices, price
Cons: nothing

BEirut supplied the food for a baby shower for 20 people, held in August 2007. The food arrived on time and piping hot. The chicken with rice was expertly seasoned as were the accompanying salads, entrées and baklava. The amounts of food were more than adequate and many of the guests took home containers of it for future meals. The price for this delicious, four-course meal was unbeatable.

Pros: cozy atmosphere, relaxed, family style dining, easily accessible, ample parking
Cons: The mussels had been previously steamed; the hot sauce(of your choice) was simply poured over them

Several Gatineau restaurants offer a weekly all-you-can-eat mussel special. Le Cachet has added its name to this list with its Thursday evening special. Although reasonably priced and served with abundant and delicious home-made fries, the mussels had been previously steamed and left to cool. The sauce, of one's choice, was simply heated and poured over the cold mussels. Additionally, those mussels that had not opened during the previous steaming were left to be removed by the customer. The fries were served piping hot accompanied by a tasty mayonnaise, but too long before the mussels appeared on the table. Thus, both the fries and mussels were cold.

Pros: customer handling and service, food quality and presentation
Cons: rather pricey

This riverside establishment treats its customers as if they were royalty. The customer is welcomed at the door, escorted to a vestiary, helped to remove exterior clothing and then seated at a waiting table. Once seated, a waitor explains how the meat or seafood is prepared while displaying a tray replete with raw, high quality beef and seafood. The sommelier then appears with a wine list and his personal recommendations to accompany the meal. Soft music plays in the background. Customers are asked if the room temperature suits them. Hot, fresh bread wrapped in crisp linens and basketed is placed on the table. The fries, also wrapped in crisp linens and basketed, arrive. Then the filet mignon, expertly grilled to customer specifications, is brought in. The plating of the meat, accompanying grilled vegetables and sauces appears artful and smells wonderful. Never is the customer hurried in any way. As such, the full flavours of the meal and wine are at their epitome.
